Sling Libraries and Sling Hire services in UK

UK Sling Libraries Network is a project created in 2011 to support the growing number of sling libraries and sling hire services. The aims of this project are:

  1. To make sling libraries/sling hire services easy to find and use, so that more parents (and babies) can find their perfect sling (or two)
  2. To provide sling libraries/sling hire services owners with information and tools on how to run these services safely and effectively and compliant with UK laws.
  3. To spread the love of babywearing 🙂

      Hi Maggie
I would love to get in touch to talk about the benefits of baby wearing. I am a journalist researching the benefits.

Hi Nikki, we will soon have a guide on setting up a library. There is a dedicated forum on for those running or thinking of running a library.
      Hope this helps, Alfia

Hi Micella, have you looked at South East listings in our directory. If nothing is close enough to you then try Internet based libraries – they are at the bottom of the list. Good luck, hope you find something suitable.

Have you considered setting up an online shop for people to sell there unused slings?

Hi Alison, thank you for your comment. UK Sling Libraries Network is a not-for-profit community project and as a result we are unable to carry out any commercial activities. Selling used slings, even not-for-profit is covered by the Trading Standards and unfortunately it gets a bit too complicated for a volunteer project. There is a FSOT (For Sale or Trade) board on, and some groups on facebook where you buy and sell used slings privately. I hope this helps. Thanks, Alfia
